Our Final February Friday - Feb. 26th, 4:30-5:30pm, Wichertstrasse 52, Prenzlauer berg

Time is flying  by and we are nearing our last February Friday.  The new space for TGIF is working out amazing and the kids are clearly loving it.  Just an FYI ... there is a full kitchen where you can help yourself to water or a tea, lots of coat hanging space and shoe racks, and of course the bathroom is right there also.

This week I decided to go with some Dr. Seuss Silliness, after all what child doesn't love these books...I've quite a few so will pick the ones that  will keep the kids giggling while learning :)

Please don't forget to  RSVP to TGIFberlin@gmail.com if you would like to join us this Friday!

What, Where and When....

Our new amazing space @ Wichertstrasse 52, the Learning Center Prenzlauer Berg!

We are moving to a new venue as of February 12th, 2016.  I was fortunate enough to find a beautiful space ideal for our event in a centrally located area of Prenzlauer Berg that is easily accessible by tonnes of public transport (S-bahn, M2 tram and 156 Bus to Prenzlauer Allee ; M12 tram to Hummanplatz; S-bahn, U2, M1 tram, N2 bus to Schonhauser Allee) all within a few minutes walk to the Learning Center Prenzlauer Berg @ Wichertstrasse 52.

The room is bright and cheerful while also cozy and comfortable.  These happy crab cushions are just adorable,  I know we will be happy here!

The venue is very easy to find as it is on the ground floor (EG) in the front building (Vorderhaus).

A sneak peek of our past events - what you missed!

Our event started three weeks ago in a small studio in Prenzlauer berg. What started off as just an idea had come into being after weeks of planning.  What goes on at TGIF you ask?  Well here is a run down of the usual activities.  After a brief introduction, Nicola (the organizer) reads a story that is projected on one of the walls.  During this time children are engaged and amazed at the projected images while the story is read slowly and clearly.  Every now and then a simple question is asked to encourage participation and learning.

The story one week was about a boy who tried to catch a star, so at the end the children were asked to come up to help spell the word STAR with the paper stars that Nicola had handed out at the beginning of the class. Children love to help and participate and an activity such as this one will be included each week to encourage them to take part and learn something along the way.

Then it's time for the singing, dancing and prancing.  Two talented young musicians from Norway have been entertaining our group for the past three weeks. "Peabop and Koogi" sing, play guitar, piano and on special occasions even a double bass!

The children get a chance to make some of their own music when maracas are handed out so that everyone can "shake it" a little
